March for Science

On April 22, 2017 a historic event took place. At more than 600 locations around the world, people march for the importance of science. Isn't it sad that we still have to do this? Like seriously, its 2017. We are experiencing a very scary time in our nation. Our previous administration had created many laws in order to protect the not only the environments in our country, but to protect planet Earth. (Which is pretty important considering its our home.) There were four main goals in this march: to strengthen the role of science in policy making,  improve science outreach and communication, advance science education and scientific literacy, and to foster  a diverse and inclusive scientific community.

Washington, D.C. Is this really that hard? Are we really unable to accomplish these four, to me, simple goals? We need scientists! Students need to know the importance of science and data! We need to protect our planet because let's face it folks in D.C this is the only home we have. Again, it's 2017 we should not have to march FOR FACTS. Because again, lets face it, scientists provide us with facts! This is an issue that everyone around the world must come together on. If we don't, it could mean the end of our existence on this planet. As much as I love space, I am planning on this being my home for a while.

I support science. I support the Earth. I support facts. I support research. I support providing our students with the most knowledge possible.
