Congratulations my fellow colleagues! We did it! Our lesson presentation is done and we can now take a breath! Going into our lessons I thought that our group was prepare for anything that came our way, turns out we could have prepared a little more. Before we presented, we all practiced how long each of our sections would take and thought we had it all figured out. Everything started off pretty well, we were able to get the attention of the students and begin presenting the information we wanted to cover. All of a sudden, we began to run out of time. At no ones fault, everything just seemed to go wrong. If it wasn't that we had all gone over our scheduled time, it was that technology wasn't working. There was no time to stop, we just had to keep moving. Things got better when we were able to begin our inquiry lesson, but it was very rushed. I think the students were thankful to finally have some hands on fun activities after sitting through an hour long direct lesson. If I were these students, I would have hated us. By the time we begin fieldwork with these students, it is already 4:30. They have already sat in school all day and I can't imagine that want to listen to us for an hour and a half. But they were troopers! I have to thank them for allowing us to use them as our test subjects.

This lesson was such an amazing opportunity for my colleagues and I. We can now reflect and say "hey, that didn't work out so well. Next time let's do this" or "This worked really well, we should use it again'. I know I learned that even if you are doing a direct lesson you have to make it as fun as possible while still providing all of the necessary information. I do want to say thank you to my group! We all did the best we could! I also want to say a big thank you to the BD students! We promise we will do better next time!
