Six Kingdoms
How well do you know the six kingdoms? Well now I feel like I know them a little better then I did before. Today, we participated in a jigsaw lesson to learn about the kingdoms. Dr. Smirnova first broke us into our main groups. Once we had all been placed in our groups, we broke into our specialty group. Originally, I had little to no knowledge of any of the kingdoms. Now that this project is complete, I can say I have an understanding of the Protista kingdom! I have to give my group credit, we made a really fun presentation on something that is not that interesting. This is a perfect example of how your lessons should be implemented in the classroom. By making the lesson fun and engaging, you are able to provide your students with more information than you may realize! I also think that a jigsaw lesson is a great way of teaching your students information. By breaking students into expert groups and then having them teach the information to their fellow group members, they really become invested in the information that they are learning.
